What you will do:
  • Conduct rapid mental health assessments within a prison setting, delivering specialist interventions and managing crises effectively.
  • Develop and implement personalised treatment plans to provide recovery-focused care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver comprehensive mental health support onsite.
  • Work autonomously to assess risks, manage complex cases, and innovate care strategies that prevent hospital admissions.
  • Utilise therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, and psychosocial interventions to support individuals’ mental health recovery.
Requirements:
  • Must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration and current prison clearance.
  • Significant experience in adult mental health, ideally within community, crisis, forensic, or prison settings.
  • Strong skills in therapeutic approaches, with the ability to manage complex cases and coordinate care effectively.
  • Advanced qualifications such as AMHP, Non-Medical Prescribing, or other relevant post-registration credentials.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising staff and students.
