A leading provider of community health services is seeking a dedicated Health Visitor in Chelmsford. You will deliver the Healthy Child Programme and provide tailored interventions to improve health outcomes for children and families. Job Introduction: Are you looking for a Health Visitor role that offers variety, where you are supported by a team of practitioners, along with a clear development path, which includes the opportunity to become a dual qualified SCPHN Nurse and can lead to a variety of strategic Band 7 and 8 roles? Working within Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Services offers a unique environment, with clear visibility of senior management who are easily approachable due to their hands‑on approach, which includes our Managing Director. You will feel listened to and be given the platforms to have your voice and ideas heard. You will also be joining a team who are focused on clinical excellence and who recently received a "Good" CQC rating, with the majority of our rated services considered overall good or outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. On behalf of the NHS, Essex County Council and WECCG, HCRG Care Group and Barnardo's are commissioned to provide a range of children, young people and family services throughout Essex that are free at the point of delivery. As a Health Visitor within our Essex Children's Services, based at Chelmsford Central Family Hub as part of the Chelmsford Team, you'll work full time as part of our dedicated Healthy Family Team; a multi‑disciplinary group of Health Visitors, School Nurses, and Family Support colleagues committed to giving every child the best start in life. In this role, you will:
Promote public health and inclusion, helping families access local resources and make lasting improvements to their health and wellbeing. This is a role where every conversation matters; helping shape healthier, happier futures for children and families across Essex.
You'll be a qualified SCPHN Health Visitor who's passionate about helping children in Essex thrive. You bring warmth, curiosity, and a proactive approach; using your expertise to empower families and improve outcomes in the early years. You'll thrive in a supportive, community‑based environment where your ideas and professional judgment are valued. You'll be confident working independently, yet collaborative within a multi‑disciplinary team focused on making a real difference.
