A healthcare organization in Weston-super-Mare is looking for a qualified social worker to join their team focused on supporting young people with eating disorders. Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You will be working in North Somerset, with Bases at The Barn Clevedon and in Weston Super Mare. This post entails travelling to meet the requirements of the role, therefore a driving license and access to a car is essential.
You will be working with CYP with a range of eating difficulties and other comorbidities due to their eating. Our aim is to support young people, alongside their families and carers, to recover.
The North Somerset CAMHS ED team is a busy thriving CAMHS team that is passionate about delivering highly effective and accessible services to the young people and families of North Somerset.
The team is a well established multi disciplinary team offering evidence based interventions. The team are a diverse team and are committed to staff development and staff well being with excellent supervision and CPD opportunities. We offer established specialist clinics such as family therapy, specialist eating disorder clinics alongside staff working autonomously holding their own caseload. We have regular reflective groups and process groups to support with the clinical work.
Your role will involve providing triage, assessment, and treatment to support young people and their families/carers who present with a range of eating disorders and co-morbidities.
The team offers a variety of treatment approaches, including group-based interventions, family therapy, and individual treatments.
You will work collaboratively with core CAMHS clinicians, the Eating Disorder Home Treatment Team, and the medical team at The Seashore Centre.

NOTE: This post is open to newly qualified social workers. In line with AWP Trust policy, all newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) will initially be appointed at Band 5, regardless of the advertised role banding. All NQSWs are expected to successfully complete their ASYE within two years of employment, unless exceptional circumstances require an extension of up to two additional years.
If you are appointed to an advertised Band 6 role, progression will be automatic following confirmation of successful ASYE completion. If you are appointed to a Band 5 post, you will then be eligible to apply for a Band 6 vacancy upon successful ASYE completion.
