Job summary

East Cheshire NHS Trust in Macclesfield is seeking a Band 6 Charge Nurse for Paediatrics on a part-time basis (26 hours per week). The successful candidate will join a supportive team, rotate shifts including nights, weekends and bank holidays, and must have solid paediatric nursing experience and current NMC registration.

Main duties of the job

• Maintain own NMC registration and personal portfolio in line with PREP guidelines and professional development.
• To take lead responsibility with the support of the Senior Sister to facilitate and develop the Unit Team’s professional development needs to meet individual and organisational objectives.
• To support the Senior Sister in leading and co-ordinating the Unit Team to ensure that timely and efficient admission/transfer and discharge of patients whilst maintaining patient safety
• To support the Senior Sister in leading and co-ordinating the Unit in the early assessment and implementation of safe discharge planning, utilising appropriate resources and referral systems.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and deliver high quality, evidence-based care, including maintaining high standards of documentation, involving the children, young people and their families throughout the process.
