Banding: Band 6/7
Location: Guildford
Start Date: 9 September 2024
End Date: 9 December 2024
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:00 AM – 04:00 PM)
Rate: £24.00 – £32.00 per hour

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Band 6/7 Neuro Physiotherapist to join our team in the Neurosurgery department at RSCH in Guildford.

What your responsibilities will be for this Physiotherapist role?

As a Band 6/7 Locum Neuro Physiotherapist you will work in an acute neurosurgical ward, which includes 37 beds for patients with a range of conditions, including traumatic and acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, major trauma, and tracheostomies. You will provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and interventions, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, rehab coordinators, spinal practitioners, and nursing staff. Given the acute nature of these patients, experience in respiratory care is preferred, particularly in suctioning and cough assist. Strong clinical skills, effective communication, and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working with neurosurgical patients
  • Ability to manage a caseload of complex patients, including those with brain and spinal injuries
  • Experience in respiratory care, including suctioning and cough assist
  • Excellent clinical reasoning and assessment skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Band 6 level or equivalent experience in physiotherapy
