We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6/7 Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Bedford Hospital. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized speech and language therapy services to adult patients in an acute setting. Responsibilities:
As a Band 6/7 Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist you will be responsible for providing specialist speech and language therapy services to adult patients in an acute setting. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to address communication and swallowing disorders. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient records, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to the development of speech and language therapy services. Your role will also involve providing education and support to patients and their families, ensuring continuity of care and promoting optimal recovery.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in providing speech and language therapy services to adults, particularly in acute settings.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
