About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join our team. Ward 7 is a 28‑bedded medical ward specialising in Cardiology treating both male and female adult patients. Our 4‑bedded Coronary Care Unit provides specialist care to cardiac patients requiring primary PCI, pacemakers, and ICDs. We also manage conditions such as endocarditis and heart failure. We welcome applications from Graduate visa holders; it is important to note that you must have a minimum of six months before this expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

Non‑UK or Irish applicants should check their visa and this role's eligibility for sponsorship before applying. Please be advised we are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship to non‑UK residents.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Ward Manager, support the Ward Manager in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based, holistic, person‑centred care.
  • Assist in the supervision of more junior members of staff.
  • Act as team leader in the absence of a Band 6/7 Nurse, responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the rostered shift.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and current band 5 qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with barred lists. The cost of the DBS check is payable by the successful candidate.
  • Police clearance for any period of living or working abroad for six months or more in the last five years.
