Band 5 Senior Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Management

This post is based on Barnet Hospital of the Royal Free Hospital Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and adaptable Pharmacy Technician with good communication and interpersonal skills to take on this challenging post. Your role will involve working with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and other health care professionals on providing Medicines Management services at ward level.

Responsibilities
  • Support ward pharmacists to carry out medicines reconciliation for newly admitted patients and assessment of patients’ own drugs.
  • Coordinate the satellite pharmacy, providing original pack dispensing, patient counselling and coordination of the supply of discharge medicines.
  • Ensure Medicines Management is delivered safely, effectively, economically and timely, complying with legislation and guidelines.
  • Support medicines optimisation at ward level, including top‑ups, medicine returns and dispensing TTAs on wards.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Technician Specialist (Medicines Management) in developing and maintaining medicines management services at ward level.
  • Support induction and training of Pharmacy technicians, Pre‑registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs) and Trainee Pharmacists (TPs).
