Pharmacy Technician – Band 5

Location: Essex

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:15 pm

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: Ongoing

Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite Only

Rate: £18.00 - £30.00/hour (Dependant on experience)

Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to support a busy Acute Hospital. This is a patient facing, ongoing role, offering the opportunity to contribute to patient care across both, outpatient and inpatient pharmacy areas.

This is a hands on – clinical role requiring a thorough individual, with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense and accuracy-check prescriptions
  • Support accurate medication history taking
  • Liaise with nurses and doctors regarding discrepancies with patients’ medication to improve patient care
  • Provide Counselling and complex medication advice to patients and other health care professional
  • Work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure legal and professional standards are met in dispensing and supply
Essential Requirements
  • GPhC Registration
  • Previous experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting
