Job summary

Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a Band 5 rotational Occupational Therapy post, offering newly qualified OTs experience across acute inpatient settings including care of the elderly, stroke, specialist medicine and orthopaedics & surgery. The post holder will perform high quality assessments and interventions in liaison with the multidisciplinary team and community partners.

Qualifications

• To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own clinical and professional work, including the management of patients in your care
• To undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments of patients with a range of health and social care needs for presentations including but not limited to; medical and respiratory pathologies, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions, gastrointestinal conditions, frailty, falls and stroke
• To gather relevant medical, clinical and social information and analyse and interpret all information gained to guide intervention
• Formulate and deliver an occupational therapy treatment programme based on sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options, using clinical assessment and reasoning skills
• To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions, in collaboration with patients, using graded activity to achieve their therapeutic goals
