A healthcare organization in Basildon is seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join their Mental Health and Learning Disabilities rotation. This role involves working with individuals to establish treatment interventions that support rehabilitation. Ideal candidates are either soon-to-be qualified or already registered therapists with an interest in mental health. The position focuses on community-based work within Basildon and Thurrock.

We have a great opportunity to join our Band 5 Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Occupational Therapy rotation, We are looking for someone who has an interest in working with those with mental health conditions and learning disabilities and is seeking the opportunity to develop their OT skills. The Mental Health and Learning Disability Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotation offers an opportunity to extend your scope of practise and experience working with individuals offering meaningful treatment interventions across a range of clinical areas including inpatient and community. The initial rotational placement will be within the South Essex Community Adult Occupational Therapy Team which covers Brentwood, Basildon and Thurrock. This post will be mainly focused on the Basildon and Thurrock areas. Following completion of your first rotation you will have the opportunity to move onto a variety of six month rotational opportunities as detailed in the advert's supplementary information. Main duties of the job Working as part of the Occupational Therapy team alongside the wider multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for working with the individual to identify how their current mental health impacts upon their daily functioning, help identify needs and goals, and establish appropriate treatment interventions to support them within their rehabilitation. As a Community based role you will be working with Adults and their carers across Trust sites in South Essex with a focus on Basildon and Thurrock, and within clients homes and other locations in the community. The post holder will need the ability and willingness to travel between community locations and Trust sites in a timely and efficient manner. Valuing you. Recognising your dedication.
