Band 5 Mental Health Occupational Therapist

Are you ready to take on a rewarding locum role as a Band 5 Mental Health Occupational Therapist in the beautiful city of York? We are thrilled to present this ongoing opportunity for therapists with a background in mental health. You will be working three days a week, earning between £20 and £26 per hour, depending on your invaluable experience.

As a therapist in a medium-secure forensic hospital, you will have the chance to demonstrate your skills and make a real difference. This exciting role offers the chance to engage in assessments and interventions on a male mental illness ward. With a minimum of 12 months of post-graduate experience, you could be the perfect fit for this position.

What you will do:

  • Manage and coordinate individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring activities and interventions are delivered effectively.
  • Respond promptly to referrals and conduct thorough patient assessments to prioritise and plan appropriate interventions, either individually or in groups.
  • Maintain accurate records of each patient’s rehabilitation journey and progress, ensuring detailed documentation.
  • Oversee and support more junior staff members to ensure efficient team management.
  • Foster strong working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and quality standards.

To thrive in this role, you should be HCPC registered and hold forensic experience, which is highly desirable. However, being a car driver is not necessary for this position.
