About the role:

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 5 Pharmacy ACT Technician to join our Dispensary Department in London. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate and the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will perform final accuracy checks on prescriptions prepared by other pharmacy staff to ensure they are correct and safe for patient use. You will identify and rectify any potential errors in prescriptions, such as incorrect dosages or medication types. You will ensure that all prescriptions comply with legal and regulatory standards. You will maintain high standards of patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is dispensed to the right patient. You will keep accurate records of all checks performed and any errors detected. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy. You may assist in training new staff on accuracy checking procedures and protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualifications:
    • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
    • NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Services or medicines management.
    • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 6 months recent UK NHS hospital experience
    • Strong background in hospital pharmacy.
    • Excellent team management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
