Overview

As a CAMHS service we are proud to have established the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award into our service. As the Band 4 Occupational Therapist you will be expected to lead the way on supporting the ongoing delivery to empower young people within our services to learn new skills, overcome obstacles and build confidence and resilience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, creative, and imaginative individual to be able to adapt and deliver high quality Occupational therapy provisions within a well-established multidisciplinary team and to make significant difference to the lives of the young people and their families.

Responsibilities
  • To role model pro social attitudes and behaviours.
  • To role model recovery principles.
  • To maintain safe and effective working practices and take steps to minimise risk.
  • To develop effective partnerships with appropriate community providers i.e., voluntary projects, community groups, Duke of Edinburgh and colleges.
  • To work with the wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure the appropriateness of the programme and coherence with the MSU procedures.
  • Use technical/creative skills to assist in the provision of a flexible, client centred programme of therapeutic activities for individuals/groups of service users with Forensic CAMHS Ardenleigh.
  • Co-ordinate a designated programme of therapeutic activities provided within the service as part of the Occupational Therapy Team.
  • To deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions with supervision from a qualified occupational therapist using a range of evidence-based frameworks.
  • To maintain accurate clinical records and appropriate data.
  • To engage with clinical reflection, supervision, and training to maintain well-being and safe practices.

A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Occupational Therapist Assistant to join the Forensic CAMHS Ardenleigh team. The successful applicant will join an already established Occupational Therapy Service, which aims to provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and aftercare to young people who have complex mental health issues, such as ASD and Sensory processing deficits, whilst being committed to clinical excellence and the provision of high-quality evidence-based intervention. Ardenleigh Forensic CAMHS service is a nationally commissioned Tier 4 Medium Secure Service, which has received recognition through the National Autism Society receiving accreditation. We have an incredible national reputation and have successfully launched our new therapeutic model of care into the service.
