Overview

The successful applicant will join an already established Occupational Therapy Service, which aims to provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation to our service users with complex needs.

About the Clinic

Reaside Clinic is a male medium secure service providing care for service users with challenging behaviours and a range of clinical presentations. You would be working with the Occupational Therapy team to deliver one to one interventions as well as in group work and will require practical and creative skills in order to promote independence and to improve overall emotional wellbeing.

Therapeutic Environment

Therapeutic interventions are supported by a well equipped environment which includes a gym, kitchen, education suite, art room, gardens, woodwork shop, library, and group rooms. We have our own forensic community OT team and partnerships that support transitions out into the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions that support recovery through promoting social inclusion, development of life skills and providing opportunities for recovery, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Deliver one to one interventions and group work with the Occupational Therapy team.
  • Promote independence and improve overall emotional wellbeing of service users.
  • Exercise operational responsibility for activity workers with oversight from the clinical service manager.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team and commit to delivering the highest quality of patient centred care.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Dynamic, creative, and imaginative with a genuine desire to work in mental health.
  • Commitment to delivering the highest quality of patient centred care to service users.
  • Practical and creative skills to promote independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Experience or willingness to work in a secure or forensic environment is an asset.
