Job description
Overview

The post holder will be a member of the PPU administrative Team. Reporting to the Assistant Service Manager or Administration Supervisor and accountable to the Service Manager. The post holder will be responsible for the smooth-running of PPU, ensuring the professional and effective coordination of all private patient appointments, admissions, day cases and diagnostics. They will identify and action barriers to optimal patient journeys and system flow from point of admission to follow-up and discharge, working in partnership with colleagues within the Private Patients Unit and other departments and sites to provide a seamless service to patients and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all private patient appointments, admissions, day cases and diagnostics to ensure smooth-running of the Private Patients Unit (PPU).
  • Identify barriers to optimal patient journeys and system flow from admission to follow-up and discharge, and take action to improve processes.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues within the Private Patients Unit and other departments and sites to provide a seamless service to patients and stakeholders.
  • Administer the Private Patients Unit’s administration services and daily functions under the supervision of the Private Patients Unit Administration Supervisor.
  • Engage with patients, consultants, referrers, external providers and staff across the wider trust to deliver high-quality care and customer service.
  • Demonstrate an impeccable telephone and email manner and confidence in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Be a team player, meticulous, detail-oriented and adaptable to a challenging and changing environment.
  • Occasional cross-site work to Hadley Wood Hospital when required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience as a Private Administration Co-Ordinator with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Previous private coordination and administration experience, preferably within an NHS environment.
Working Hours & Environment

Working a variable rota that runs Mondays to Fridays from 7am to 8pm with occasional Saturdays. You will interact with patients, consultants, referrers and external providers, as well as staff across departments within the wider Trust.
