Job description

Role: Locum Pharmacy Technician (Outpatient Dispensary)
Banding: Band 4
Location: Carshalton
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Rate: £15 – £17 per hour
Working hours: Full-time, 34.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (60 mins break) and Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM (60 mins break)

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 4 Pharmacy Technician to join our Outpatient Dispensary team in Carshalton. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing dispensary cover and ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring that patients receive the correct prescriptions in a timely manner. You will provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their needs and concerns with professionalism and care. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will also support the pharmacy team with daily operations, contributing to a smooth and efficient workflow.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience/Knowledge:
    • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification.
    • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration hospital pharmacy experience.
    • Previous experience in medicines optimisation and dispensary.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
