Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Finance Officer to assist a public sector client in Ballymena. This full-time position involves maintaining budgetary control, preparing financial reports, and providing financial advice. Candidates should have 3 years of relevant finance experience or a Certificate for Accounting Technicians. The role offers an immediate start and is for a minimum of 3 months, working Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • 3 years relevant finance experience OR Certificate for Accounting Technicians with 2 years relevant finance experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Assist in maintaining effective systems of budgetary control.
  • Prepare and input approved changes to the Trust Budgetary System.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and investigate budget variances.
  • Create and maintain budget reports and structures for managers.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to budget managers.
  • Conduct variance analysis and ad hoc investigations of budgets and expenditure.
  • Process regular payroll and non-pay adjustments.
  • Assist in identifying funding for vacancies and staffing changes.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Job description

We’re currently recruiting a Finance Officer to work with our public sector client, based in Greenmount House, Ballymena. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, for a minimum of 3 months with an immediate start.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining effective systems of budgetary control.

  • Conduct variance analysis and ad hoc investigations of budgets and expenditure.

  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrate 3 years relevant finance experience OR Certificate for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (QCF Level 4) with 2 years relevant finance experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
