Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? The NHS is looking for a dedicated Field Engineer to service, maintain, and repair powered and manual wheelchairs, ensuring our patients enjoy greater independence and quality of life.

Location: Blaris Industrial Estate, Lisburn
Salary: £13.57 per hour, paid on a weekly basis

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate daily workload to respond promptly to customer needs.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and first-level fault diagnosis on powered and manual wheelchairs.
  • Fit supplier accessories and modifications to improve wheelchair functionality.
  • Service, repair, and refurbish wheelchairs according to original supplier specifications.
  • Plan and meet job requests and deadlines within fixed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain accurate documentation and database records for all jobs and equipment.
  • Label and correctly identify all client equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations Supervisors, Regional Managers, workshop engineers, procurement, and administrative teams.
  • Treat all clients with respect, patience, and dignity in their homes.
  • Manage workshop recycling requests and coordinate parts for repair and servicing.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on non-powered and powered workshop equipment when required.

Do you have the following?
  • GCSE Subjects of grade C or above (including English and Maths) or Equivalent qualifications
  • BTEC Level 2 Certificate/ Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification
  • One year's experience in a customer facing role gained within the last 5 years
  • Two years' experience of working within a mechanical/electrical/repairs role gained within the last 5 years
