A leading mental health service provider in Bristol seeks an Assistant Psychologist to join theirPositive Behaviour Support Service. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver intensive support to children and young people with complex needs and their families. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Intensive Positive Behaviour Support Service. To work as an Assistant Psychologist in the Learning Disability Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (LD CAMHS), ensuring that a clinically effective, high-quality Intensive Positive Behaviour Support Service (iPBS) is provided to children and young people, as well as their families and carers.
The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary service under the direction of the iPBS Service Lead, delivering intensive support and interventions to children and their families with complex needs. They will provide support and health promotion, and work alongside a Senior Psychologist to offer assessment and intervention to children and young people and their families/carers, within the CCHP multi‑professional LD CAMHS.
The post holder will assist in assessing complex needs (including functional analysis) and delivering interventions to address challenging behaviours in children and young people, under the direction of the Clinical Psychologists in the team.
They will deliver programmes to children and young people in specialist educational settings, short‑break provisions, and home environments. The post holder must be willing and able to work between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., as required.
