Join Our Team as a Trust Telephone Systems Operator - Competitive Pay with Weekend Premiums! Are you ready to be a vital first point of contact for the South Eastern H&SC Trust? We're looking for compassionate, efficient, and skilled individuals to operate our Trust Telephone Systems across Acute and Community sites including The Ulster Hospital, The Lagan Valley Hospital, The Downe Hospital, and more.

Rate of pay - £12.31 - £20.80 per hour

These positions would include shift work. Mainly 8am-4pm & 2pm-10pm Monday - Sunday. The occasional night duty may be required.

Shift work will include weekends, bank holidays including Christmas holidays.

What You'll Do
  • Operate telephone systems promptly and pleasantly, supporting multiple Trust sites.
  • Prioritise tasks effectively, especially during emergencies or system failures.
  • Provide sensitive or complex information with empathy and knowledge to staff, patients, and the public.
  • Handle calls tactfully, overcoming communication barriers with diplomacy.
  • Use advanced communication and keyboard skills daily.
  • Stay calm and act appropriately in emotional and distressing situations.
  • Manage major incident responses, delivering vital information to medical teams and keeping accurate logs.
  • Participate in live drills and test business continuity for emergencies such as bomb alerts and cardiac events.
  • Test internal communications regularly across various emergency teams, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Operate and maintain communication devices like pagers, including issuing, programming, and reporting faults.
