Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the Gastroenterology Ward, providing compassionate patient care and supporting a multidisciplinary team.

You will monitor vital signs, assist with personal care, and undertake tasks such as ECGs and specimen collection, while adhering to infection prevention standards and escalating concerns when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital care settings preferred.
• Ability to monitor vital signs and respond to changes promptly.
• Commitment to infection prevention and patient dignity.
• Comfort with assisting with investigations and treatments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of safe patient care, including monitoring vital signs and recognising deterioration.
• Assist with personal care, nutrition, and hydration, ensuring dignity and comfort.
• Undertake clinical tasks such as ECGs, specimen collection, and documentation.
• Support patients undergoing investigations and treatments, including endoscopy pathways.
• Escalate concerns promptly to registered staff.
• Contribute to patient flow, including admissions, transfers, and discharge preparation.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to infection prevention and control standards.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and dynamic Gastroenterology Ward. You will play a key role in supporting the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with a range of acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.

• Support delivery of safe and effective patient care, including monitoring vital signs and recognising deterioration
