A leading health trust in the UK is seeking a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to support individuals with learning disabilities in a community setting. The role involves contributing to assessments, assisting healthcare professionals, and maintaining high standards of care. Candidates should have experience working with learning disabilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
Learning Disability Crisis Response Intensive Support team (LD CRIST).
The LD CRIST are a multi disciplinary team, with learning disability & mental health nurses, psychologist, speech and language therapists, occupational therapist and psychiatrist.
The LD CRIST provide a service 7 days a week between the hours of 08:00-21:00hrs including bank holidays.
Opportunities have arisen for Band 3 Community Learning Disability Support Workers to join LPT to support people and their families in a community setting.
The primary aim of the team is to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. LD CRIST will provide rapid assessment, intensive support to people with a learning disability and behaviours that challenge or mental health conditions.
The principle role of the Senior Healthcare Assistant is to assist the healthcare team in the provision and delivery of programmes of patient care under the indirect supervision of registered practitioners. This includes: Taking physical or psychological measurements from named clients/service users as delegated by the team.
The ideal candidate will have had previous experience of working with adults or children with Learning Disabilities in a community setting.
You must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
