A well-known NHS trust in Greater London offers an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Assistant in the Breast Screening unit. The successful candidate will support the Consultant Surgeon/Radiologist during biopsy procedures, handle patient liaison, and ensure equipment is prepared. Candidates must have experience working with patients, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of the NHS Breast Screening Programme. This role provides 37.5 hours per week with professional development support and flexible working opportunities.
The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all Key Members of the multidisciplinary team and service users relating to the speciality of Breast Screening. They will provide assistance to the Consultant Surgeon /Radiologist in the Breast screening unit during biopsy procedures and clinical examination. Responsible for preparation and checking of equipment prior to biopsy procedure. Chaperoning of patients during consultation and clinical examination. Preparation of procedure trolley for ultrasound biopsy/Punch Biopsy. Application of dressing following biopsy procedure in accordance to the aseptic technique.
