Job summary

A healthcare recruitment agency is seeking a Band 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation Health Care Assistant in Newtownabbey to provide support to the clinical staff in the Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise program. The role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a HCA Band 2 in Cardiology/Medicine and an NVQ Level 3 in Patient Care. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients. The position is based in Northern Ireland with closing dates of applications on November 6 and 7, 2025.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working as a HCA Band 2 in Cardiology/Medicine is required.
• A current full driving license valid for use in the UK is necessary.

The post holder is required to assist in the provision of safe, effective, compassionate person centred care. The post holder will assist the clinical staff with the smooth running of the Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise programme and will provide the clinical and administration support to the clinical team.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

• Respect the dignity, wishes and beliefs of all the patients/service users.
• Obtain consent from patient/service user for all care and treatment provision.
• Assist in the setting up of exercise class environment.
• Provide direct care to patients attending the Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise programme and help to ensure the smooth running of each patient episode.
• Provide clinical and administration support to the team.

Skills and Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Patient Care Or A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working as a HCA Band 2 in Cardiology/Medicine.
• Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
• This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
