Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as a member of the skill-mixed Specialist Service for Children with Learning Disabilities and work with children, young people and families.
  • Assist in delivering specialist support for children and young people with learning disability, under supervision of qualified nurses, contributing to and implementing care packages.
  • Work across settings such as family homes, educational settings and respite units to ensure structured support for children and young people.
  • Carry out other tasks involving direct care and administrative work such as data inputting, filing and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Contribute to the learning environment and development of the service as an active member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Operate within a multidisciplinary team including Psychiatry, Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Psychologists and Support workers, following national/local guidance to promote holistic support.

This role with Bristol CAMHS-LD could be perfect for you. This post requires you to work with young people up to the age of 19 years who have a moderate to profound learning disability, behaviours which challenge and/or emotional and/or mental health difficulties. The role will involve working in a variety of settings with children/young people and their families along with working collaboratively with the skilled clinicians within the multidisciplinary team and the wider multiagency Network. The post holder will assist in the delivery of specialist support for children and young people who have a learning disability.

Right to Work in the UK This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application, as the organisation is unable to support sponsorship for this post.

Main duties of the job

We are a multi-disciplinary service primary made up of Psychiatry, Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Psychologists and Support workers.
