Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dedicated individual to assist in patient care within the theatre/interventional radiology context under supervision. You will help move patients and equipment and support a clean, safe environment while upholding compassionate care values.

Essential English, numeracy and communication skills, plus basic computer literacy, support effective teamwork.

Qualifications

• Evidence Of Maths/English Qualifications At Level 2 Or Above.
• Vocational qualification at level 2 or equivalent relevant experience.
• Level 2 examples: GCSE Grades 9-4 (A-C) Level 2 Diploma in health care support / NVQ, Functional Skills Level 2
• Internationally educated applicants will have to evidence UK ENIC Statements of compatibility
• Desirable: Care Certificate or can demonstrate prior skills, knowledge and experience that meet the 15 minimum standards described by Health Education England (HEE) Skills for Health

Job Summary

To work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with patient care activities under the direct supervision of a registered Theatre Practitioner. Following appropriate training and assessment of competence undertake identified and delegated clinical and non-clinical duties. The post holder will undertake the movement of patients, equipment and designated items throughout the hospital and will contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment. The post holder will uphold the trust values and is expected to behave at all times in a way that demonstrates commitment to the delivery of thoughtful, compassionate patient care and continuous improvement of patient care quality, outcomes and experience.

• Can explain why training / education and approaches to care need to be consistent in relation to safety and patient experience
• Shows enthusiasm for the role and is interested in working in a theatre / interventional radiology practice setting

• Has experience of working in a person centred/ facing role in a paid or voluntary capacity.
• Understanding of the principles of safeguarding in relation to this role
