Job Summary

We are pleased to inform you of a vacancy for the position of Band 2 - Supply Chain Distribution Officer. The role involves the delivery of goods to wards and departments, aiming to complete deliveries on the day of receipt whenever possible. Post holder will be responsible for unpacking trolleys and pallets safely and at an appropriate location. Physical effort may be required and safe manual handling procedures must be followed. Occasionally, travel to other Trust sites may be necessary.

Location

Lister Hospital, Coreys Mill Lane, Stevenage, SG1 4AB.

Salary & Contract

£24,465 per annum. Permanent, full-time, flexible working pattern. Core hours 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver goods to wards and departments, wherever possible on day of receipt.
  • Unpack trolleys/pallets safely and in a suitable location.
  • Marshal goods into the goods receiving area, safely unloading pallets/roll cages/tote boxes from vehicles, and check and sign driver’s documentation as required.
  • Ensure signature is obtained from the recipient (End‑User) upon delivery of non‑stock items.
  • Respond to enquiries efficiently – act as liaison between wards, departments and the Supply Chain function.
  • Maintain high service levels to all customers for receipt and distribution of goods.
  • Follow Trust moving and handling policies and work safely with all equipment.
  • Collect and return empty roll cages/tote boxes to the NHS Supply Chain Distribution Centre.
  • Assist materials management team with ward replenishment when required.
  • Ensure the maximum security of goods and the receiving store at all times.
