Overview

Join our Pharmacy Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust! We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our expanding Aseptic Services team within the Cancer Services Division. The role supports the preparation and assembly of specialised medications in a clean room environment, working alongside experienced Pharmacy Technicians to ensure safe, high‑quality pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation and assembly of specialised medications in a clean room environment.
  • Perform specialised cleaning duties and essential environmental monitoring and quality assurance checks.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities to the highest standards.
  • Issue stocks and maintain good stock control in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Contribute to the department's continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • GCSE grade C or above in Mathematics and English.
  • Holds or is willing to work towards an NVQ level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF) and BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science.
  • Evidence of previous work experience relevant to the position such as warehouse or stores, reception duties, etc.
  • Evidence of experience within a team environment.
  • Experienced in customer relations.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety at Work, manual handling and COSHH.
  • Understanding of dispensing, stock control and supply systems and processes.
Desirable
  • Previous experience within a pharmacy setting.
  • Knowledge of hospital environment.
  • Understanding of pharmacy related computer systems.
