Job description

The medical equipment library section of medical electronics provides delivery, collection and decontamination services of the medial equipment and pressure area care mattresses to the wards/clinical areas within the trust.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first line of contact for customers via phone and in person, providing clear and consistent service.
  • Ensure that only items with correct paperwork are accepted into the department.
  • Return items to users after cleaning, servicing, and verifying they are in working order.
  • Escalate urgent requests and problems to appropriate parties.
  • Maintain administrative functions, including filing and entering data into databases such as TRACE and the medical equipment database.
  • Use basic office software, including copy‑typing, spreadsheets, and databases effectively.
Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of common medical and laboratory equipment used in the trust, or the ability to learn quickly.
  • Effective communication skills with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel, databases).
