Overview

As a Receptionist you will be responsible for meeting and greeting patients and visitors to site. Prompt, polite and courteous telephone call handling, providing information, redirecting calls as and when required in a professional manner. The postholder will support the facilities team in planning and administration achieving an effective and efficient service provision. Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of professional colleagues and service users.

Main duties of the job
  • To demonstrate the Trusts values in everything you do in the work environment and live up to LPTs Leadership Behaviours.
  • To comply with Health and Safety policy and procedures and to ensure a safe environment for employees, visitors, patients and contractors.
  • To provide a friendly and efficient service to all patients and visitors who attend reception across the Trust sites.
  • To promptly and efficiently deal with all calls to the reception in a pleasant and courteous manner.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the reception is manned at all times during agreed office hours.
  • Reception duties and personal enquiries, directing visitors as appropriate.
  • To receive incoming telephone calls and ensure that messages are accurately recorded and relayed in a timely manner.
  • To undertake a variety of general office duties, including typing, filing and mail.
  • Manage, prioritise and organise own workload and that of others to ensure that deadlines and the demands of the service are met at all times.
  • Receive and distribute incoming post, receive external post, frank and/or prepare for collection via porters or Royal Mail.
  • Maintain a register of rooms and users details.
