Balance Sheet Accountant – 6-Month Contract (Hybrid) Location: Inverurie
Duration: 6 months (possibility to extend)

NES Fircroft is looking for a Balance Sheet Accountant to join an oilfield services client of ours. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global leader in the energy sector, offering hybrid flexibility and competitive pay.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for reviewing all balance sheet reconciliations and processes, investigating reconciling items, and ensuring all balances are accurate and fully supported. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and attention to detail to maintain financial integrity and compliance with company policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review all balance sheet accounts in line with company policies and accounting standards
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances
  • Maintain accurate reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation
  • Prepare journal entries and adjustments as needed
  • Review and update reconciliation processes where necessary
Requirements
  • Strong accounting knowledge and experience with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with Glovia is a plus)
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
