The Recipe In line with the Unbeatable Quality delivery strategy, deliver workstream projects and provide process and recipe expertise across the business as coordinated by the UQMs. Working primarily within one Product Platform / business area, deliver sustainable improvements for existing products at all producing sites, as well as collaborating with wider business functions where appropriate. Key Accountabilities And Measures

  • Lead projects within Quality Strategy workstreams & support wider business quality activity coordinated by the UQMs to facilitate the delivery of the Unbeatable Quality delivery strategy.
  • To provide full support to the UQMs in planning and delivery of the Product Platform meetings to drive shared best practice thus delivering consistency and improving quality performance.
  • To provide technical expertise to bakeries above site capability to support product improvement / changes to recipe in line with business requirements and that measurement processes are in place to ensure the product meets legislative and quality standards and requirements.
  • To provide technical expertise to support business growth by working in partnership with ingredient suppliers, Centre functions, Innovation, 3rd parties and bakeries. To ensure investigations into new equipment and processes are documented and findings and recommendations are made to the relevant departments.
  • To be a subject matter expert within identified Product Platform, whilst maintaining good knowledge in all other quality processes by taking personal responsibility to develop and grow technical capability. Taking responsibility to share knowledge and to develop skills outside of current function.
  • To ensure raw material and flour assessments are carried out and reviewed in line with business requirements, working in partnership with the test bakers, bakeries and suppliers.
  • To support the procurement function of the business in optimising raw material performance and quality against controlling and managing costs
Essential Ingredients
  • Significant evidence of working within a technical bakery role, within a food manufacturer.
  • Experience of introduction of innovative processes and technologies.
  • Science based background at least a food technology qualification or equivalent experience
  • Project management skills and experience
  • IT & PC Knowledge: Windows, Excel and Minitab
  • Commercial awareness: understanding of cost of manufacturing and quality; understanding cost benefit analysis.
  • Industry knowledge: Understanding raw materials; up to date on latest process techniques; up to date and knowledgeable on latest ingredients and engineering technology.
  • Excellent communication skills: influencing and motivating teams, directly, indirectly and remotely; persuasive; impactful verbal and written skills;
  • Excellent relationship builder- establishing credibility with both internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Strong team player able to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Decisive- able to make significant decisions, and be accountable, using statistical data
  • Experience of delivering training and coaching either on a group or one to one basis.
