Job summary

Prism Digital, a self-funded market intelligence business in London, is hiring a Backend Engineer to build APIs and data pipelines for its SaaS platform. You will work in Python, PostgreSQL and AWS, three days a week next to the co-founder, with scope to lead tooling decisions across the company.

The role requires a Russell Group degree, 6 months to 3 years of Python backend experience, and a passion for AI tooling.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 3 years of commercial backend experience with Python.
• Experience building and consuming APIs.
• Strong SQL and relational data modelling skills.
• Experience with AI tooling (Claude, Copilot, Cursor or similar).
• Willing to contribute tooling ideas and push for process improvements.
• Keen to learn and open to feedback from senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Connect the platform to clients through secure and scalable APIs.
• Develop backend services in Python, building data pipelines in AWS.
• Collaborate with full-stack engineers on data integration and UI features.
• Own AI initiatives and champion new tooling across the company.
• Contribute to tooling and process improvements.
