Bright Purple Resourcing Ltd is recruiting a Backend Software Engineer (Python/Django) on a contract basis. The role focuses on designing and building the APIs and backend workflows behind a new client portal, with ownership from refinement to production release.

You will collaborate with product teams and QA to deliver robust backend services in production. The ideal candidate has strong Python and Django experience, enjoys working in a product-driven team, and can contribute to CI/CD and

Qualifications

• Commercial experience building and supporting backend services in production
• Strong Python and Django experience, including ORM, migrations, configuration and testing
• Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs with solid data modelling and relational DB practice
• Knowledge of authentication, authorisation, SSO patterns and secure API design
• Testing mindset and experience with CI/CD
• Ability to diagnose application, database and performance issues in live environments
• Understanding of cloud-hosted apps and infrastructure as code, ideally in AWS

Responsabilités

• Designing, building and maintaining backend services and APIs using Python and Django
• Owning work end to end, from technical refinement through to deployment and monitoring
• Collaborating with product, programme management, QA, platform engineering and other developers to shape practical solutions
• Making sound trade-offs across security, performance, maintainability, cost and delivery
• Breaking complex work into clear increments and raising dependencies and risks early
• Writing clean, well-tested, well-documented code with good observability built in
• Taking part in code reviews and helping improve test automation, CI/CD and production reliability
