Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Software Engineer to help build reliable, data-intensive backend systems for the financial data platform. You will design robust data models, develop scalable backend services, and construct high-volume pipelines that support accounting workflows.

You will partner with Finance, Product, and Engineering to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions, focusing on delivery, testing, monitoring, and code quality. Hybrid work from Toronto with some in-person meetings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend experience, with data-intensive apps.
• Proficient in Scala or Java and at least one distributed data framework.
• Experience designing reliable backend services and scalable datasets.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration platforms and CI practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop Java/Scala backend services for financial data integrations.
• Design data models supporting accounting, reconciliation, reporting.
• Integrate with external financial systems and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product, and Engineering on requirements.
• Improve observability and resilience of pipelines and services.
