eFinancialCareers is seeking a Backend Engineer (Mid-Senior) in London to join a growing tech team. You will design scalable backend services in Python, build cloud-native applications on AWS, and contribute to architecture and standards in a modern microservices environment.

The role collaborates with Product and Design, participates in code reviews, and mentors peers. Hybrid working in Central London, with a strong pension and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience building scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Exposure to frameworks such as Django, FastAPI or similar.
• AWS cloud experience.
• Understanding of distributed systems, object-oriented design and software engineering best practices.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and databases.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building scalable backend services using Python.
• Developing cloud-native applications within AWS environments.
• Contributing to system design, architecture and engineering standards.
• Working closely with Product, Design and wider business teams.
• Supporting code reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Building solutions within a modern microservices architecture.
