Backend Data Engineer - Real-Time Crypto Analytics Infrastructure

Location: London, New York City (Office)

Compensation: $250K - $300K

We are a high-growth software development company of elite builders, redefining what's possible and proud contributors to the largest crypto social network globally. We are seeking a Backend Engineer focused on data to design and scale our real-time data infrastructure at the forefront of crypto and social finance. This role is for a self-starter who thrives on solving complex, high-throughput data challenges in a fast-paced environment.

You will own the end-to-end architecture and operation of our real-time analytics pipeline, ensuring low-latency insights are always available to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires interacting directly with high-throughput blockchain infrastructure and solving significant challenges related to data consistency, scale, and performance.

What You'll Do:

  • Data Ingestion: Interact directly with high-throughput full nodes and RPC infrastructure (e.g., Solana) to extract raw on-chain data.
  • Pipeline Development: Build and operate reliable pipelines that ingest blockchain data into OLAP systems (e.g., ClickHouse or similar) for low-latency analytics.
  • Architecture Ownership: Architect, ship, and own high-performance data solutions that power one of the world's largest crypto social networks.
  • Reliability: Maintain the accuracy, uptime, and performance of our analytics services, ensuring stakeholders always have trusted insights.
  • Problem Solving: Solve complex challenges around data consistency, scale, and performance where innovation and efficiency are paramount.
  • Collaboration: Own your work from concept to production, collaborating with a world-class team of engineers and product leaders.
  • Core Experience: Strong engineering experience in any of: backend systems, data engineering, distributed systems, or high-performance computing.
  • Database Skills: Experienced with databases, streaming systems, or analytics platforms (e.g., ClickHouse, TimescaleDB, or similar columnar/time-series databases).
  • Languages: Comfortable with Rust, Go, or other systems programming languages.
  • Domain Interest: Familiarity with crypto, DeFi, or blockchain technologies and passionate about building scalable platforms that handle massive data volumes.
  • Mindset: Ownership-driven, capable of leading features end-to-end with minimal guidance; a problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and executes quickly.
