Job summary

Sunny Days Children's Nursery in Wiltshire is seeking a Baby Room Practitioner to provide high-quality care and learning experiences for babies in Calne and Lyneham. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment and support each child’s development in their first steps of learning.

The role emphasizes caring for babies, following care plans, and maintaining safeguarding and health/safety standards, with opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least Level 2 in Early Years or Childcare.
• Level 3 in Early Years or Childcare is preferred or working towards a relevant qualification.
• Reliable, organised and good communicator.

Responsibilities

• Providing warm, responsive care to babies, meeting their individual needs and routines.
• Supporting babies’ learning and development through play, sensory activities and age-appropriate experiences.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with babies and their families.
• Following individual care plans, including feeding, sleeping and personal care routines.
• Observing and recording children’s progress and sharing updates with parents and carers.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Following safeguarding procedures and ensuring the welfare of every child.
• Working closely with colleagues to create a happy, supportive and welcoming environment.

Job description

Do you have a passion for caring for babies and helping them take their first steps in learning and development? Are you a warm, caring and enthusiastic person who wants to make a real difference to the lives of little ones?

We are looking for a dedicated Baby Room Practitioners to join our friendly nursery teams and provide high-quality care, support and learning experiences for our youngest children based in our nurseries in Calne and Lyneham, Wiltshire.

About the Role

As a Baby Room Practitioner, you will play an important role in creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where babies feel secure, loved and encouraged to explore the world around them.

• Providing warm, responsive care to babies, meeting their individual needs and routines.
• Supporting babies’ learning and development through play, sensory activities and age-appropriate experiences.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with babies and their families.
• Following individual care plans, including feeding, sleeping, nappy changing and personal care routines.
• Observing and recording children’s progress and sharing updates with parents and carers.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Following safeguarding procedures and ensuring the welfare of every child.
• Working closely with colleagues to create a happy, supportive and welcoming environment.
