Job Summary

An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in Eden ICC (Integrated Community Care) in the Eastern Lake District, Cumbria. The role is full‑time, with flexible working patterns (including weekend and late shifts) and covers 8:00‑20:00, Mon‑Fri, with additional on‑call duty to provide 7‑day service.

Main duties of the job

You will lead on D2A’s (Discharge to Assess), POD (triage), and manage your own caseload of adults aged 18+ in a community setting. Key tasks include:

  • Conducting patient assessments and developing individualised care plans based on evidence‑based and client‑centred principles.
  • Implementing and evaluating therapeutic interventions in homes, nursing and residential care, and Community Hospital beds.
  • Providing clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.
  • Travelling independently to patient locations and occasionally supporting the in‑patient unit.
  • Participating in CPD, audits, and research opportunities.

Essential Qualifications
  • BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
Desirable Qualifications
  • Clinical Educator qualification

Experience
  • Post‑registration clinical experience with autonomous working
  • Experience with adults and older adults in community settings
  • Supervision of junior staff and students
  • Extended role clinical responsibilities (desirable)
Knowledge
  • Specialist OT assessment and intervention skills for targeted client groups
  • Familiarity with OT outcome measures and NHS policy trends
