The Ward Clerk / Higher Clerical Officer will provide vital clerical support to Valencia Ward, ensuring efficient administration for clinical teams. You will help manage patient information, support staff across the ward, and maintain accurate records in a busy healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as first point of contact for staff, visitors, and patients.
  • Manage telephone queries and liaise with GP surgeries, hospitals, and MDT staff.
  • Record admissions, discharges, and transfers on PAS, PARIS, and PIPA.
  • Maintain and file patient charts and documentation.
  • Complete daily bed state information.
  • Arrange meetings, manage mail, and provide general clerical support.
  • Report faults and maintain stationery supplies.
  • Provide cover in other ward areas when required.
Essential Criteria
  • Four GCSEs (A-C) including English Language, or One year's relevant clerical experience, or NVQ Level 2 in Administration.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility within a changing environment.
