Job summary

Meritus Talent is supporting a leading aviation maintenance organisation in the North East with the recruitment of experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineers on a permanent basis.

This role offers long-term stability, varied base maintenance work, and the chance to operate within a growing Part 145 environment. We seek B1 engineers with Airbus A320 Family and Boeing 737NG type ratings who are committed to delivering safe, compliant, high-quality maintenance.

Qualifications

• Hold UK CAA Part-66 B1 licence and Airbus/B737NG ratings.
• Recent certifying experience in a Part 145 environment.
• Strong knowledge of Part 145, Part M, Part 66 and continuing airworthiness.
• Experience supervising base maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Certify aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with authorisations.
• Supervise maintenance technicians during base maintenance inputs.
• Ensure work complies with maintenance data and regulatory requirements.
• Allocate tasks and provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
• Complete and review maintenance documentation accurately.
• Promote safety, compliance, and workmanship standards.
• Support quality audits and regulatory inspections when required.
• Ensure tooling and equipment are used and maintained correctly.
• Identify and report safety occurrences and improvement opportunities.
• Liaise with planning, CAMO, quality, and operations teams for smooth delivery.
• Champion Human Factors principles and safety culture.
