Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking individuals to register as Shared Lives carers, using their own homes to provide support to eligible people in Bath & North East Somerset. The role supports day care, respite and full-time arrangements with individualized client matching.
Carers operate as self-employed with their own tax arrangements, training is provided, and a dedicated coordinator supports the matching process with potential clients.
Please note this is not a Bath & North East Somerset Council Vacancy.
We are looking to register new Shared Lives carer households in B&NES. Shared Lives is a service where the carer uses their own home and daily life to provide support to people who have eligible needs.
We have a need for households with one or more people who can use BSL to a level 3 standard or above. This could be for day support (£18.50 per hour), respite stays (£205 per stay) or full-time (£825 per week, plus housing contribution and food & bills payment). People with support needs are individually matched to households and the carer has the final say on whether or not they support a person. As well as being a BSL user the person supported may have needs such as autism or a learning disability.
The scheme offers full training in care and support, the support of a dedicated coordinator and a detailed matching process with potential clients.
Shared Lives carers are self-employed and are responsible for their own tax arrangements.
