Job summary

RedRock Resourcing is seeking a Platform Engineer (Azure) to join a Cardiff-based hybrid team. You will develop and enhance DevOps capabilities, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments, supporting both cloud and on-prem environments.

The role emphasizes secure coding, performance testing, and reliable, scalable delivery. You will collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to drive continuous improvement and adopt new capabilities while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps and cloud technologies.
• Understanding of on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including virtualization, containerisation and microservices.
• Experience with SQL and .NET, alongside automation and infrastructure tooling.
• Knowledge of non-functional testing, including security, scalability, availability and reliability.
• Awareness of secure coding principles and testing practices.
• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies and continuous integration principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance DevOps capabilities, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Build, configure and maintain technical environments, integrations and data throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Improve build automation, source control, testing and release management processes.
• Support integration and non-functional testing, including performance, security, availability and reliability.
• Work across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, selecting appropriate technologies to meet delivery requirements.
• Identify and implement tools and techniques that improve efficiency, reduce delivery complexity and maintain quality.
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to understand requirements, share technical knowledge and support the adoption of new capabilities.
• Use DevOps metrics and performance measures to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Promote secure engineering practices and contribute to a strong, collaborative DevOps culture.
