Job summary

Experis - ManpowerGroup is seeking a Lead Technical Architect to oversee Azure cloud migration initiatives for an NHS Blood and Transplant project. The role requires guiding architectural governance from discovery to service transition, ensuring security and resilience in a highly regulated environment.

The candidate will define target Azure architecture, manage stakeholder decisions, and coordinate with NHSBT, Microsoft and delivery teams to deliver a safe cloud migration.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering Azure cloud migration programmes and governance.
• Proven track record as Lead Technical Architect on complex enterprise programmes.
• Strong expertise in Azure architecture, networking, identity/access management and security.
• Ability to act as credible design authority with senior stakeholders and hyperscaler partners.
• Experience governing technical delivery across multiple stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical assurance from discovery through migration completion and service transition.
• Validate as-is architecture: application, infrastructure, network, security and dependencies.
• Define and assure target Azure architecture, landing zone alignment and key components.
• Govern technical decisions and risks across NHSBT, Microsoft, and delivery teams.
• Oversee security, resilience, backup, DR and business continuity requirements.
• Review migration approaches, sequencing, runbooks, readiness criteria and blockers.
• Support operational readiness and final technical acceptance recommendations.
