Job summary

BCN Group Ltd is seeking an Azure Engineer for hybrid/remote UK work. You will act as a technical contact for a portfolio of cloud customers, delivering hands-on Azure changes and advising on security, governance and cost efficiency.

The role requires strong customer-facing skills, deep Azure knowledge, AVD experience, and a track record of optimisation. Collaboration with Account Managers, Architects and Support Engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting and managing Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong customer-facing experience with the ability to influence technical decisions.
• Experience with workshops and technical reviews for customers.
• Knowledge of Azure infrastructure services, networking, storage, monitoring, governance and security.
• Proven ability to identify and implement cost optimisation and cloud efficiency improvements.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) implementations and optimisation.
• Understanding of Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary Azure technical contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of managed cloud customers.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through service reviews and technical workshops.
• Develop understanding of customer environments, objectives, workloads and cloud strategies.
• Provide expert guidance on Azure infrastructure, security, governance, resilience and operations.
• Lead optimisation initiatives including rightsizing, reservations, Savings Plans and cost governance.
• Deliver hands-on Azure engineering changes across customer environments.
• Implement and optimise Azure Virtual Desktop environments and Nerdio solutions.
• Coordinate during critical incidents to achieve rapid resolution.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Focus of the role:

As anAzureEngineeronBCN’sAzure Managed Services, you will act asatechnical contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of cloud customers. Combining strong Azure engineeringexpertisewith excellent customer relationship skills, you will help organisations maximise the value of their Azure investment whilstmaintainingsecure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments.

Working across Azure infrastructureyou will develop anunderstanding of customer goalsand priorities. You willprovidetechnicalguidance,identifyopportunities for optimisation and improvement, lead customer-facing engagements, and drive hands‑on delivery of changes that improve performance, security, resilience, and cost efficiency.

You will own the customer's Azure experience, providing proactive recommendations, technicalguidanceand cloudexpertise. Working closely with Account Managers, Architects, ProjectTeamsandSupport Engineersyou will help customers achieve successful cloud adoption and long‑term value from their investment.

Through proactive problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and a strong customer focus, you will help organisations maximise the value of Microsoft technologies while supporting BCN's reputation as a trusted technology partner.

• Provideexpert guidance on Azure infrastructure, cloud adoption, security, governance, resilience, and operational best practices.

• Proactivelyidentifyopportunities to improve customer environments through optimisation, automation, modernisation, and technical change.

• Lead Azure optimisation initiatives, including rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, storage optimisation, and cost governance recommendations.

• Deliver hands‑on Azure engineering changes and technical improvements across customer environments.

• Implement,manage, and optimise Azure Virtual Desktop environments andNerdiosolutions.

• Act as the technical lead during critical incidents, coordinating with internal teams, third‑party vendors, and Microsoft to achieve rapid resolution.

• Support customers in adopting Microsoft best practices, including the Cloud Adoption Framework and Well‑Architected Framework principles.

Person, Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience supporting and managing Microsoft Azure environments.

• Strong customer‑facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence technical decision‑making.

• Experience conducting customer workshopsandtechnical reviews

• Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure services, networking, storage, backup, monitoring, governance, and security.

• Proven ability toidentifyand implement cost optimisation and cloud efficiency improvements.

• Experience managing and troubleshooting complex Azure and hybrid cloud environments.

• Hands‑on experience delivering Azure changesandimprovements

• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)implementationsand optimisation.

• Experience withNerdioManager for AVD is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework and Well‑Architected Framework.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach.

• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent would beadvantageous.
