Your role and responsibilities

As a Managing Application Developer‑Azure Cloud FullStack, you’ll spearhead the strategic direction and oversight of our cloud‑native application initiatives, driving innovation and expertise within our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Shape and spearhead the cloud‑native application strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry trends

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex cloud‑native applications

  • Mentor and guide senior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system architecture and ensure seamless integration with Azure cloud services

  • Oversee the development of cloud‑native application strategies, roadmaps, and best practices

Assessment Centre

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre hosted onsite at IBM Hursley on 3 December 2025.

The Assessment Centre will provide an opportunity to meet IBM leaders, engage in technical discussions, and participate in collaborative exercises that reflect real‑world challenges faced by our teams.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Front end; Back end; GitLab; Terraform or Ansible OR Eng/Dev willing to become Cloudy. Also AI java python and PySpar

  • Azure; Front/Back End Software Dev inc Java Javascript and CloudFormation

  • Extensive experience in developing rich UI applications based on SPAs or microfrontends

  • Masterful proficiency in developing scalable and resilient backend microservices following the 12‑factor principles

  • Strong understanding of modern SQL and No‑SQL modeling techniques

  • Proficiency in purpose‑built programming languages and runtimes, including .NET Core and Node.js

  • Deep knowledge of Azure cloud services and frameworks

  • Experience with Event Driven Applications using Kafka and Zookeeper

  • Familiarity with cloud‑native CI/CD for change release

  • Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD)

  • Proficiency in running and managing services on Azure, including Azure VMs, Azure Container Service, Azure Container Registry, Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure App Services, Azure Batch, Azure Functions, and Azure Service Fabric

  • Experience with Azure Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Azure API Management

  • Knowledge of Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Cache for Redis

  • Implementation experience with Azure Integration services like Azure Logic apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and APIM

  • Familiarity with App Insights and Azure Monitor for observability

  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles with Azure DevOps, Azure Boards, Azure Pipeline, Azure Repos, PowerShell scripting, and YAML pipeline creation

  • Proven track record of delivering high‑quality cloud‑native solutions in a professional setting

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills

  • Strong foundation in Azure security, including identity management, access control, and threat protection

  • Experience with front‑end development frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

  • Proficiency in back‑end development with .NET, Node.js, or Python
