KS1 Teacher (Years 1 & 2) - Full Time

The role
- To plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons to pupils in Years 1 and/or 2, ensuring that the National Curriculum is met and children are motivated and make excellent progress.
- To assess, monitor, record and report on pupils' learning and progress, adapting teaching as needed to meet all learners' needs (including those with additional or special educational needs).
- To work collaboratively as part of the KS1/early years phase team, sharing planning, resources and best practice.
- To maintain high expectations for behaviour, motivation and personal development of pupils; to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
- To liaise with parents/carers, support staff, other professionals and the Senior Leadership Team to support the all‑round development of the children.
- To contribute to the wider school life (e.g., extra‑curricular activities, school events).
- To uphold the school's safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all children at all times.
We are looking for someone who
- Is a qualified teacher (QTS) with recent experience (or a strong trainee/ECT) in KS1.
- Has sound knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective pedagogy for early years / Key Stage 1.
- Is passionate about primary education and committed to child‑centred learning.
- Can differentiate lessons to meet a wide range of abilities and needs, including SEND and higher‑attaining pupils.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills - able to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Is enthusiastic, resilient, organized and works well as part of a team.
- Is committed to continuing professional development and reflective practice.
