AWS Public Cloud Engineer - Contract

A research-driven technology firm with one of the most advanced compute environments in Europe is strengthening its cloud engineering capability. The team is responsible for the secure, high-performance AWS platform that supports a wide range of internal engineering workloads, and they’re looking for an engineer who enjoys building reliable infrastructure at scale. In this role you’ll shape the core AWS environment, streamline how teams consume cloud services, and raise the bar on automation and security. You’ll be joining a group that values clear thinking, high standards, and practical engineering.

Key responsibilities
  • Build and evolve the organisation’s AWS foundation, ensuring it is stable, secure, and easy for others to build on
  • Develop infrastructure using modern IaC practices, primarily Terraform, with a focus on reusable, well-structured modules
  • Establish and maintain guardrails around identity, access, governance, and compliance
  • Create tooling and automation that reduce manual effort and improve day-to-day developer workflows
