Job summary

Searchability NS&D is seeking a DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared) to join a Newcastle-based, hybrid team delivering AWS-driven cloud platforms for critical public sector programmes. The role focuses on automation, platform engineering, and hands-on cloud operations to support delivery teams.

The position is permanent and hybrid with flexibility to work from Newcastle offices. Salary up to £70,000 DOE. SC Clearance eligibility is required due to sensitive work.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps or Platform engineering role, building and maintaining AWS infrastructure.
• Large scale AWS environments.
• Container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, GitHub).
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Eligible for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AWS cloud infrastructure and platform solutions.
• Hands-on work with Linux, Kubernetes and cloud technologies.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment processes following DevOps best practices.
• Help implement engineering standards and best practices across teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and platform issues.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to support delivery.
• Work with stakeholders to understand technical requirements and deliver value.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers where required.
